<title>Tikal</title>

<summary>One of the largest and most amazing Mayan ruins in the  world is 
located in Guatemala.
It is a 4 hour bus ride from our dorm to Tikal. This means 8  hours 
of driving to go for a one day trip. Because some teams have asked for  
this experience, we have put together a package that we offer in the 
middle of  the mission trip for those who would like to visit the Tikal 
Mayan ruins. But due to the amount of time it takes, we have broken this 
adventure into a 2 day trip.

<title>A Tough Day at the Office</title>

Whew, yesterday was a tough day. It started off with many sick 
children lined up
   waiting at my clinic. Marleni and I treated them and then got an 
emergency call
   in a remote village where we were told a man was dying. We took 
the ambulance
   and responded and then walked into the jungle with our emergency 
equipment to
   find a 22 year old man lying in a hammock in a stick shack that 
had to be 100
   degrees. Everyone was crying and praying and then we began our evaluation.

This is the first time I have ever had a team from  England
   and let me tell you how it  happened.
I have two medical students from England
   here for six weeks and they are fantastic. They have been a 
tremendous help to
   me and their names are Jessica and Calum.
Here they are working on a patient who was in a car accident and had 
her leg was amputated.
She
   cannot afford to go to hospital and had four kids and no husband so 
we are
   doing the best we can.

<title>Clayton  State University  Nursing School Team</title>

Hello Everyone from Guatemala!

Well we had a team of nurses from Clayton  State University
come down and help us for 10 days and man did we work but they were also 
full
of life. It was 16 women and 1 man.

There were in their last year of nursing school so they were eager to 
deliver babies
and suture and do clinics and that is what we did.

We did five clinics and they were fantastic.
